What We’re Looking At

ISSUE ZERO

We had to post this link to ISSUE ZERO after reading the Hito Steyerl critique regarding posting conference lectures online. ISSUE ZERO, while quite short on content at the moment, is a sexy attempt at archiving a live discursive event. Big on production quality (well, as big as one can be with a lecture), reportedly, the online video of the Eyal Sivan discussion is more interesting to watch than the actual conference which our curator Kim Simon attended in 2012.

“ISSUE ZERO is a new project launched at the Berlin Documentary Forum from May 31 to June 3, 2012. Its aim is to explore contemporary modes of developing, producing, and distributing documentary in and across networked environments.”

If you’re interested in exploring the Berlin Documentary Forum itself a bit further, they’re pretty good about sharing their materials online. You can find a PDF of their “magazine” published on the occasion of the event here.
