Master Class
Friday, April 6, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Jackman Hall (at the AGO, 317 Dundas St. W.)
Cinematheque Ontario, The Images Festival and Gallery TPW invite you to attend a Master Class conducted by Dutch award-winning installation artist Lonnie van Brummelen on the occasion of the Canadian Premiere of GROSSRAUM.
On Friday, April 6 from 3pm to 5pm at Jackman Hall, von Brummelen will lead an engaging, illustrated discussion about the current political climate in Europe, its relation to her art-making and how it informs her documentary approach. Invoking cinema masters like Straub-Huillet, as well as contemporary Dutch video artists, von Brummelen will ask us to explore provocative questions on the topic of issues versus aesthetics, from Empedocles to GROSSRAUM.
GROSSRAUM will be on view at Gallery TPW from Thursday, April 5 to Saturday, May 5, every fifteen minutes past the hour during gallery hours. Gallery TPW is located at 56 Ossington Avenue, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 5pm. Lonnie van Brummelen will be in attendance at the opening of GROSSRAUM on Saturday, April 7 from noon to 5:00 pm.
